Fall Down and Get Up

In last week’s blog I dwelled a bit on perception. Our relationship with success is a matter of perception. There is a prevailing conception that if we do not receive the desired response to an action that means we have failed. Failure is considered the down side of an unsuccessful act. If that was correct, none of us would be walking or talking and our development would have stopped at nursing. In other words, success is trying the same thing another way or to practice till we succeed.

Art has changed so much throughout history, but not the appreciation of art. That has remained the same. Beauty, as the cliché says, is in the eye of the beholder. Always has. The “How” and ‘What” has changed. Today, to make a realistic painting, I can work based on a photograph, I can use the computer. Heck! I don’t even have to paint. I can print it out on the surface of my or my client’s desire. I don’t have to paint realistically to tell a story. Surrealism and abstract are just perfect to tell a visual story.

As an artist, as a visual story teller, I know that technically speaking, if I have a problem telling my story, there are so many different venues to try till I am satisfied.

“Between The Sea and The Park (2)”- Printable Digital Illustration @ Barbara Adler Art 2021

As an appreciator, there are so many artists and various styles that I am certain that one can find the art that expresses their point of view.

There is no such thing as failure. There is a “thing’ of different approaches for different folks. You don’t like it, you “fall” down, then get back up and find the way that suites you. That’s how the toddler learns to walk and talk and they are a great success (just look at you and me).

Everybody needs art, especially in these crazy times. There is Art for everyone’s state of mind, desires and tastes. Take a break, reflect and delve into some of my art, to my stories.

Flatter me! All the works on this blog are Printable and for sale. They are Barbara Adler originals. I love talking about my art, so feel free to DM to converse and purchase, making it yours.
