A Chance to Count Blessings

Giving and receiving gratitude should never be taken lightly. We don’t do it enough and it is often taken for granted.

At the threshold of the holiday season, Thanksgiving is the perfect chance to stop for a second and count our blessings.

I am grateful for my being. Myself and I have had our ups and downs, but I am quite pleased with who I became.

I am grateful for my health. For my ability to recover and snap back, to be able to run in nature and to get a good night’s sleep.

I am grateful for my gift of art. It has given me the love of nature, curiosity, creativity, passion, a profession and to have an open-mind. I never have a dull moment.

I am grateful for my family; My parents that raised me, were “good-enough”, gave me a good set of values and a tool-box for life. My spouse that has taught me sharing, partnership, friendship and deep love. My children that humor me and taught me the meaning of unconditional love, understanding, compassion and kindness.

I am grateful for my pets. They taught me loyalty, forms of non-verbal communication, for appreciating the “here-and-now”, to be humane and of course, love.

I am grateful for my friends for their support, patience and understanding.

I am grateful for the seasons that change periodically, turning the known landscape into something different, interesting and often challenging. The sea, sky and land for ever changing colors giving me reason to create.

As we enter the holiday season, be grateful and show gratitude. Give a meaningful piece of art as a present, as it is a never-ending story that can be reviewed again and again, giving meaning to space and time.
