The AMAZING To-Do List

Kick-Starting Our Motivation

In the past half a year I got sick twice like never before. In June I caught the Corona virus even though, I am inoculated and managed to stay safe since the on-set a few years back. Took me a full month to recover and then a month plus till I was able to build up stamina to run again. Then, 3+ weeks ago, I came down with a terrible stomach bug. I am just getting back to myself after being put on a course of antibiotics. Needles to say, as a freelancer in any field, to be put out for a month and a half over a period of 6 months is not great for business. I was functioning on minimum-actions mode. Doing the bare necessities.

Then, one day I woke up feeling a hell of a lot better. Ready to take over the world again. The fear of all that missed time procrastinates! Introverted artists are the best procrastinators! So, how does one get back on the horse? With the AMAZING to-do list! Seriously, that list is amazing. On a scrap of paper, the list is as for the supermarket, but with things to do instead. I draw a line down the middle. One side personal, the other side professional. Top part, repetitious items, lower part, immediate one-time items. Next, is putting it into the planner and of course executing accordingly. Nothing like this seems to kick-start motivation!

Why am I sharing this with you? As I already mentioned, artists are notorious procrastinators. Our creative muses are often frightened and muted by the happenings around us, within us. We need framework and discipline to get back, but please don’t call it that! Grateful to those very muses, for I must create, impertinent to find my way to unmute and calm them enough to adhere to my calling.
