Aqua

IT is no secret that I find the sea and the beach as a continuous, invigorating source of interest and inspiration. I moved with my family to live by the sea at the age of eleven. The sea, sun and sand became my playground. The water, the movement of the water, the glittering sun light or moon light reflecting upon the water, the sea shells, the vegetation and the various forms of sea life became my source of comfort, interest and inspiration, never seizing to fascinate me. To this day, a day at the beach will fill me to the brim with ideas and desire to create and engage in dialogue. The dialogue is very intimate. An inner voice, that is usually mute, begins to whisper. At that moment I must be totally quiet, listening, giving full attention to where it may lead.

"Aqua" is a water color and ink drawing on A-4 quality paper. The watercolor background was as if to mimic the soft waves of water as they washed the sands at the waters edge. The ink imagery was partially real and partially fantasy creating a surreal delicate drawing.
