Between the Park and The Sea

This very large canvas, began as a joke.

Besides art, nature and my family, i have a love for long distance running. I call it "fast-touring", as I run through/by beautiful places. my greatest joy when traveling is getting u before the rest of the family and going for a run, discovering the sites, planning

the day, coming back full of enthusiasm and acting as our tour guide, sharing all the sites that I ran by during that early morning run. To be able to do that, I must have the stamina, which means that I must train. Luckily, I live in an area that is blessed with parks, forests, mountains and also only 20 minutes from the sea, so I have every terrain to train on with wonderful favorite running places. one specific favorite site is by the sea. An eight kilometer boardwalk. The municipality invested greatly in the boardwalk, turning it rightfully into a wonderful tourists spot, lined in parts with cafes , public beaches, lookouts and benches. The "joke" (in my eyes) was that the parks that lined the length of the boardwalk were gated! Often at six in the morning, the parks and entrances to the walk were locked and one could see an array of runners and dog-walkers, searching for breaches to enter. Another part of my "joke' was the very unaesthetic sewages pipes and graffiti drawn on the low walls right under a beautiful deck lookout. I began with a small sketch, using acrylic markers in canvas paper. I really liked what was happening and blew it up large scale .

The sea and its surroundings, whether man-made or just nature itself, never seem to stop fascinating and inspiring me.
